They said that in the last hr. a fork-lift had pierced a container of RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL AT LAX. I have been looking for a folllow-up&#8211;in all media&#8211; since I heard the story, nearly a week ago. Nothing. Were they reporting a false alarm at the top of the news???? Or is there a cover-up ??? <\/p>\n<p><font color=\"red\"><b>UPDATE: Eureka&#8230;An Answer To My Question!<\/b><\/font><\/p>\n<p> Aug 25, 2007 11:22 pm US\/Pacific<br \/>\n<b><a href=\"http:\/\/cbs2.com\/topstories\/local_story_238021352.html\">LAX Forklift Accident Spills Radioactive Material<\/a><\/b><br \/>\n(CBS) LOS ANGELES An accident &#8212; <em>not an act of terrorism<\/em> &#8212; created a situation involving radioactive material at Los Angeles International Airport tonight, according to an airport spokeswoman.<\/p>\n<p>A forklift punctured one of three cargo boxes containing low-grade radioactive material in the Lufthansa cargo building at Imperial Highway and Aviation Boulevard at about 8:10 p.m., said Nancy Castles of the Los Angeles World Airports, which operates LAX.<\/p>\n<p>City firefighters contained the area of tarmac and a hazardous materials crew cleaned up the spill, Castles said. <\/p>\n<p>About 31 workers were evaluated for exposure to radioactive material and released, Castles said. <\/p>\n<p>The incident was being investigated as an accident and not an act of terrorism, she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last Saturday night, Aug. 25, 2007, the 11:00 PM local news on KNBC opened w\/ a live, breaking story.
